"Back to Nature!" concludes the 103rd concert season of the Münster Symphony Orchestra. This festive concert presents a diverse program that bridges the gap between tradition and innovation.

Dieter Schnebel dedicated his two-part cycle Re-Visionen to ten great composers. Among these homages is the Mahler moment; here Schnebel stages extremely fascinating, always organic-looking transitions between his own compositional handwriting and that of the old master. Mozart wrote his Clarinet Concerto in A major for his friend Anton Stadler; today, every clarinettist of note has it in his repertoire, including Simon Degenkolbe, principal clarinettist of the Münster Symphony Orchestra.

Mahler's 4th Symphony, the "final piece" of the Wunderhorn symphonies, is once again based on a poem from Des Knaben Wunderhorn. The renowned Catalan soprano Núria Rial will perform the solo part. For Adorno, this symphony was "a masterpiece of Als Ob from the first to the last note". In fact, the "heavenly life" in the final movement proves to be deceptive.
