Taking South Tyrol as a starting point, the exhibition "Vielheit. das Zusammenleben in postmigrantischen Gesellschaften" ("Diversity. Living together in post-migrant societies") explores this: How do preferences, habits, perceptions and relationships change when people from different cultural, social, ethnic and religious backgrounds share a place? Where and how do new things emerge? What opportunities and requirements are derived from this? With contributions from local and international artists, the exhibition explores what it means to think about social change beyond simple concepts of belonging.
Diversity is a possible term for this. It describes a large number of disparate things - in other words, a diversity that, despite the differences, still wants to be thought of together. Contemporary, post-migrant society is heterogeneous and this fact forms the recognized basis of social negotiations. Migration appears to be a dynamic process that affects all areas of society.

The artistic contributions to the exhibition encourage us to think about diversity as a space of possibility, but also as a challenge. The focus is not least on what migration researcher Regina Römhild has called "heterotopic moments of conviviality": the many small events of successful coexistence that counter the populist stigmatization of migration and its consequences. As an integral part of the project, the mediation and event program invites visitors to discuss the future of social coexistence in the region together with artists, scientists and activists.
