After a three-year closure, during which extensive conversion and renovation work was carried out, the Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf opens its doors in November to present its new collection. Of the approximately 130,000 objects from all eras and genres that make up the Kunstpalast's collection, around 800 works will be on display. In addition to the highlights and big names of the collection, the chronological tour will also include lesser-known works, some of which have never been exhibited before. In addition, hidden, newly created rooms specially designed for children - the Rhinopalast - invite young visitors to conquer the museum for themselves.

"More than ever, the new Kunstpalast should be a place where everyone - regardless of age and art historical background - can feel at home and discover new things," says Felix Krämer, General Director of the Kunstpalast, describing his vision for the museum. "We welcome visitors who have never been to our museum before as well as those who have been here many times in the past and know the collection well," says Krämer, for whom the low-threshold nature of his museum is one of his greatest concerns. The Kunstpalast aims to inspire its audience away from the canon and enable new, unfamiliar perspectives by bringing together artistic positions from all areas of the collection.

A Kunstpalast app developed together with digital partner ERGO will add a digital dimension to future visits to the museum. Collection rooms equipped to the latest standards, an open studio for cultural education and an inviting inner courtyard with catering facilities make the new Kunstpalast a place where visitors like to spend time and where they like to return - the city's living room.

From November 21, 2023, all art enthusiasts, those interested in culture and the curious can see for themselves and explore the new Kunstpalast - with free admission for the first week.
