The museum presents Peggy Guggenheim's personal collection, masterpieces from the collection of Hannelore B. and Rudolph B. Schulhof, a sculpture garden and temporary exhibitions. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is part of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, which also includes the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the future Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
In fall 2024, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection dedicates a major solo exhibition to Marina Apollonio (b. 1940), a leading exponent of international optical and kinetic art supported and collected by Peggy Guggenheim. The exhibition traces the artist's career up to the present day and highlights her rigorous visual research, expressed in multiple variations and elegant execution. It includes painting, sculpture, drawings, as well as static, moving and environmental works, experimenting with black and white and chromatic explorations and exploring a variety of materials and techniques.
