Philately Liechtenstein is revolutionizing the world of stamps and will present another world first in 2023. The new product combines the classic stamp with an NFT* and also creates a unique bridge to the art world. With the purchase of the NFT, each buyer will be virtually assigned a section of the painting by internationally renowned neo-pop artist Romero Britto.

Romero Britto – international artist becomes "Art Ambassador"
For this art edition, we were able to win a very special person as an "Art Ambassador": Romero Britto. The Brazilian is one of the best-known artists of the international neo-pop art movement. Growing up in the poorest of circumstances, he loved stamps as a child and "traveled" with them through the world in his mind. His imagination gave him confidence and continues to shape his style to this day. With bright colors and eye-catching patterns, it spreads a message of hope, love and happiness.

Limited Special Edition
It is already the fifth crypto stamp and at the same time the first NFT to be issued by Philately Liechtenstein. The product combines the classic stamp with an NFT and now also creates a unique bridge to the art world. With the purchase of the limited-edition NFT, each buyer will be virtually assigned a section of the painting by the internationally renowned neo-pop artist Romero Britto.

Discover the most versatile stamp in the world
The journey begins with a 100-year-old printing process – steel engraving. The image of the stamp of the art edition is realized with this old technology and at the same time builds a bridge to the present: Using state-of-the-art image processing technologies, each stamp receives an individual, non-forgeryable fingerprint, which can be verified via the corresponding app. The physical stamp is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The stamp has a small but important detail: the forgery-proof QR code. This secure QR code, which you already know as an SQR code thanks to the crypto stamp, opens up the digital world behind the stamp. Scan the SQR code and find out which of the four different rarities is associated with your stamp. When you use the app to verify your stamp, you can move your NFT to a wallet and store it separately. Otherwise, he will stay with your stamp and you don't need his own wallet*. This is especially handy for those stamp collectors who don't have a wallet yet. A wallet is an account where you can store cryptocurrencies or NFTs digitally.

Journey into the digital world behind the stamp
The digital world is getting colorful! That's because both the four collectibles and the NFT design are created by Romero Britto. The NFT is a non-counterfeitable asset – a digital work of art. Each NFT only exists once, and each NFT has a specific stamp associated with it. Both are linked to each other via an identical serial number, with the common origin stored in the blockchain* – this protects against counterfeiting. The NFT's journey from owner to owner – the so-called CV – can be viewed in the blockchain or the Philately Liechtenstein app. NFTs and stamps can stay together or be traded separately on an external platform.

Virtual Ownership – a work of art for 1,500 art lovers
The special feature: Romero Britto is painting a physical painting for the NFT, which will now be exhibited in the Liechtenstein National Museum. This original Britto painting will be associated with the 1,500 NFT. Buyers of one of the limited NFTs will thus also be virtually assigned a certain image section of the original painting. Each individual image section is linked to exactly one NFT and can be viewed digitally by the owners.

How does it work?
Owners of one of the NFTs can scan a QR code in the museum that tells them the exact location of their digital image section on the physical painting.

The art edition is limited to 1,500 pieces and can be pre-ordered now. The date of issue is March 29, 2023. On this historic day, Liechtenstein and Switzerland celebrate their important joint customs treaty, which has been a friendly bond between the two countries for 100 years.
