Philately Liechtenstein revolutionizes the world of stamps and presents another world first in 2023. The new product combines the classic stamp with an NFT* and also creates a unique bridge to the art world. With the purchase of the NFT, each buyer will be virtually assigned a section of the painting by the internationally renowned neo-pop artist Romero Britto.

Romero Britto - international artist becomes "Art Ambassador"
For this art edition we were able to win a very special person as "Art Ambassador": Romero Britto. The Brazilian is one of the best-known artists of the international neo-pop art movement. Growing up in the poorest of circumstances, he already loved stamps as a child and "traveled" around the world with them in his mind. His imagination gave him confidence and still shapes his style today. With bright colors and eye-catching patterns, he spreads a message of hope, love and happiness.

Limited special edition
This is already the fifth crypto stamp and also the first NFT to be issued by Philately Liechtenstein. The product combines the classic stamp with an NFT and now also creates a unique bridge to the world of art. With the purchase of the limited-edition NFT, each buyer is virtually assigned a section of the painting by the internationally renowned neo-pop artist Romero Britto.

Discover the most versatile stamp in the world
The journey begins with a 100-year-old printing process - the steel engraving. The image of the Art Edition stamp is realized using this old technique and at the same time builds a bridge to the present: using the latest image processing technologies, each stamp is given an individual, unforgeable fingerprint that can be verified using the accompanying app. The physical stamp is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The stamp has a small but important detail: the forgery-proof QR code. This secure QR code, which you already know as the SQR code thanks to the crypto stamp, opens up the digital world behind the stamp. Scan the SQR code and find out which of the four different rare collector's items is assigned to your stamp. If you use the app to verify your stamp, you can move your NFT to a wallet and store it separately. Otherwise it remains with your stamp and you do not need a separate wallet* for it. This is particularly practical for stamp collectors who do not yet have a wallet. A wallet is an account in which you can store cryptocurrencies or NFTs digitally.

Journey into the digital world behind the stamp
The digital world is becoming colorful! Because both the four collector's items and the NFT design were created by Romero Britto. The NFT is a non-falsifiable asset - a digital work of art. Each NFT exists only once and each NFT has a specific stamp. Both are linked to each other via an identical serial number, with the common origin stored in the blockchain* - this protects against counterfeiting. The path of the NFT from owner to owner - the so-called life cycle - can be viewed in the blockchain or the Philately Liechtenstein app. The NFT and stamp can remain together or be traded separately on an external platform.

Virtual Ownership - a work of art for 1,500 art lovers
The special feature: Romero Britto is painting a physical painting for the NFT, which will now be exhibited in the Liechtenstein National Museum. The 1,500 NFTs will be linked to this original Britto painting. Purchasers of one of the limited NFTs will therefore also receive a virtual copy of a specific section of the original painting. Each individual image detail is linked to exactly one NFT and can be viewed digitally by the owner.

How does it work?
Owners of one of the NFTs can scan a QR code in the museum, which tells them the exact position of their digital image section on the physical painting.

The art edition is limited to 1,500 copies and can be pre-ordered now. The issue date is March 29, 2023, a historic day on which Liechtenstein and Switzerland will celebrate their important joint customs treaty, which has linked the two countries in friendship for 100 years.
