Dance and its ensemble at the Stadttheater Gießen see themselves as a platform for diverse contemporary stage languages that place the body at the center of their work. It thus celebrates the joy of movement and the power of imagination and images on stage that relate to the reality of our everyday lives.

A public place where the most diverse people meet: Anonymous, seemingly meaningless, some stay for a while, others move on. What does their outward appearance reveal about their life situation? What inner states of these people are concealed: their attitude to life, their worries and dreams? And what connects them to other people in this place, even if only for a brief period of transition? The Belgian performer and choreographer Yi-Chun Liu, who has been influenced by her many years of collaboration with the dance theater company Peeping Tom, explores the contrast between our public image and the intimacy of our inner worlds. This discrepancy gives rise to a surreal view of everyday situations in which the inexpressibility of emotions finds its way into unusual forms of expression.
