The "Literary Spring in the Homeland of the Brothers Grimm" will enter its twelfth season next year. As in previous years, a colourful mix of readings, discussions, reading dinners and other presentations will be offered on these ten days. A literary revue is also planned.

The festival was founded in 2012 by three hotels in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg, the Hotel Die Sonne Frankenberg, the Hotel Schloss Waldeck and the Romantik Hotel Landhaus Bärenmühle in Ellershausen. The occasion was the 200th anniversary of the publication of the children's and household fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, who had collected the material for their world-famous tales in northern Hesse. The festival is now supported by more than two dozen companies and institutions from the Waldeck-Frankenberg region, which make it possible in the first place.

Every year, the organizers present prominent authors, actors and actresses as guests and contributors at more than two dozen events. The focus is on current new German-language publications, including literary and cultural-historical works as well as current non-fiction books. A crime novel and a political book are also regularly included. The patrons of the festival are the actress Iris Berben and the writer Stephan Thome.
