The "Literary Spring in the Home of the Brothers Grimm" enters its twelfth season next year. As in previous years, a colorful mixture of readings, talks, reading dinners and other presentations will be offered over these ten days. A literary revue is also planned again.

The festival was founded in 2012 by three hotels in the northern Hesse district of Waldeck-Frankenberg: Hotel Die Sonne Frankenberg, Hotel Schloss Waldeck and the Romantik Hotel Landhaus Bärenmühle in Ellershausen. The occasion was the 200th anniversary of the publication of the Children's and Household Tales by the Brothers Grimm, who collected the material for their world-famous stories in northern Hesse. The festival is now supported by more than two dozen companies and institutions from the Waldeck-Frankenberg region, who make it possible in the first place.

Year after year, the organizers present prominent authors and actors as guests and contributors at more than two dozen events. The focus is on new German-language publications, including literary and cultural-historical works as well as current non-fiction. A crime novel and a political book are also regularly included. Actress Iris Berben and writer Stephan Thome are the patrons of the festival.
