The boundaries between classical music, world music, and personal musical expression are blurred in the "Mixed Zone" concert series at Theater Trier. With cellist and singer Nesrine Belmokh, the audience can expect an evening of music full of cultural diversity and stylistic openness.

The "Mixed Zone" concert series at Theater Trier stands for musical encounters that transcend traditional genre boundaries—a format that combines classical concert culture with global influences. In the third edition of the series, internationally acclaimed cellist and singer Nesrine Belmokh takes to the stage of the Großes Haus and, together with the Trier Philharmonic Orchestra, creates an evening of symphonic sound and world music.

Trained as a classical cellist and supported by important figures such as Lorin Maazel, Plácido Domingo, and Daniel Barenboim, Belmokh developed her own musical signature early on. Her collaboration with Cirque du Soleil had a decisive influence, leading her to turn increasingly to world music. In her songs, she combines classical virtuosity with influences from different cultural spheres—shaped by her family's Algerian origins, her French socialization, and her current home of Valencia.

Under the musical direction of General Music Director Jochem Hochstenbach, a concert evening is created that combines personal stories, different sound traditions, and orchestral expressiveness. "3. Mixed Zone" sees itself as a musical dialogue across borders—emotional, immediate, and stylistically surprising.
