The Mörbisch Lake Festival has been delighting audiences with operettas and musicals on a unique stage directly on Lake Neusiedl since 1957. Harmoniously embedded in the impressive natural scenery of the Lake Neusiedl National Park is one of the largest open-air stages in the world. The Mörbisch Lake Festival stands for boundless cultural enjoyment and transports visitors into the magical world of musical theater far away from everyday life. Artistically, the Mörbisch Lake Festival focuses on the very highest quality. Spectacular productions with renowned performers ensure full audiences year after year. Stars from the pop and folk music scene also give brilliant concerts in the "Mörbisch Summer".
In 2024, a contemporary version of this play will be brought to the lake stage under the title "My Fair Lady - The Musical", which will be transformed into the vibrant cosmopolitan city of London in 2020.

Who doesn't know the songs from "My Fair Lady": "Ich hätt' getanzt heut Nacht", "Es grünt so grün", "Mit 'nemenen Stückchen Glück" and many more. As children, we often dream of what we want to be when we grow up. Many want to be a princess, but "Eliza Doolittle" wants to be a sales clerk in a posh flower store. She is a bright girl from a poor background who does not even speak her mother tongue properly, which is why she is excluded from society. Professor Henry Higgins meets the stubborn girl on the subway and sets himself the task of transforming Eliza into a fine lady and changing her entire life. You can find out whether he succeeds at the Mörbisch Lake Festival in 2024.
Director Simon Eichenberger and General Director Alfons Haider have created a surprise with the casting of the Lady. The 21-year-old Anna Rosa Döller from Lower Austria will slip into the role of the "Lady". As "Sophie", she enchanted over 180,000 people at the musical MAMMA MIA! this summer and has been a shining star in musical heaven ever since. The role of Prof. Higgins will be played by musical star Mark Seibert, who will be appearing on the Mörbisch lake stage for the first time! He has already enjoyed great success in Elisabeth as "Death", in Dance of the Vampires as "Count von Krolock" and in Rebecca as "Maxim de Winter".

"We are adopting the story of "My Fair Lady" almost unchanged, but the action is being relocated to London in 2020. To do this, it is necessary to revise the text and music, emphasizing the musical character of the play more than before. In addition, the role model of men and women in today's world will also be incorporated into our version, which will lead, among other things, to a socio-critical examination of Prof. Higgins' behavior towards Eliza," reveals Alfons Haider, General Director
