Double "Simpsons" anniversary! "The Simpsons" started on American television with a Christmas special on December 17, 1989. For 35 seasons and 757 episodes, the TV series has been entertaining audiences worldwide with biting satire, bizarre ideas and a merciless look at Western society.

As the longest-running primetime animated series and the TV series with the most guest stars, "The Simpsons" holds two world records in the Guinness Book of World Records. "The Simpsons" are also immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 2024 is a special "Simpsons" year: the TV series has been running for 35 years and its creator Matt Groening is celebrating his 70th birthday. For the first time in Europe, the Caricature Museum Krems is showing works from William Heeter and Kristi Correa's extraordinary collection of 'Simpsons' cartoons.

The Springfield universe visits Krems
With over 150 hand-drawn pictures and cels from the first 13 seasons - after which the TV series was produced entirely digitally - the exhibition takes you on a journey through the adventures and pranks of the Simpson family. The couch gags are an integral part of the opening sequence of the series. Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie as skeletons, with pacifiers in their mouths or the Simpsons shrunken on the sofa can be seen in the show. The cartoons about the three-eyed fish Blinky or Homer's dream of toilets will make you smile. Cartoons featuring Mr. Burns, Homer's boss and owner of the town's nuclear power plant, Bart's best friend Milhouse and other well-known characters from the fictional small town of Springfield are also presented.
Storyboards and sketches give you exciting insights into the characters as well as the art and process of animation. Fun facts and photo points make for a unique "Simpsons" experience at the Caricature Museum Krems.
