With Nora Turato's 62-meter-long mural "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa", the Kunsthalle Wien opens the new annual commissioned work in public space for the showcases of the MuseumsQuartier building. Turato uses language as a central material in her works and playfully explores the power structures of its spoken and written form. This new work uses the vitrines on the southwest exterior wall of the building to depict a scream, articulating one of the most primal and uninhibited forms of expression in a carefully constructed mural.
