The 21st century still stands for the future - especially in design.
New social challenges and innovative forms of work organization have had an impact on the design of things, as have new production techniques, marketing opportunities and distribution channels. In the MAK exhibition, 100 selected objects - furniture, household appliances, tools, lighting, consumer electronics and accessories as well as design for personal care, health and mobility - represent the diversity and innovative power of Austrian product design in the years 2000 to 2025. They are role models for design quality in terms of functionality, technological innovation, resource conservation and ergonomics, but also for wit, charisma and the emotional content of products. Surprising and exciting things await in familiar objects.
The exhibition AUT NOW takes place as a project of the MAK as part of the Vienna Design Week 2024.
