Michael Talke is an opera and drama director whose productions are characterized by clear language and a subtle sense of humour. He has worked as an assistant director with renowned directors such as Frank Castorf and Christoph Marthaler. Since 1996, he has worked as a freelance director at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Thalia Theater Hamburg and the Theater Bremen, among others. He is now making his debut in Schwerin.

Leo Fall's music is one of the highlights of the silver operetta era. His operetta The Dollar Princess is a classic of the genre that is performed far too rarely and has been filmed four times. Love, intrigue and business keep the fast-paced story moving. Multimillionaire John Couder wants to remarry - this time it has to be a European aristocrat. He meets the "Russian countess" Olga, who later turns out to be a dancer at a Berlin nightclub. Couder's daughter Alice chooses her impoverished aristocratic private secretary Fredy, who steadfastly refuses to accept her dowry. A scandal ensues and Fredy leaves New York.
