Tanz:Fest Gastein - Winter Edition: unforgettable dance experiences in a breathtaking winter setting.
From 13 to 17 March 2024, the picturesque Gastein Valley offers a comprehensive program for dance fans for the second time in the winter season. The festival attracts visitors with a wide range of activities, including over 50 workshops, sociable evening events and the unique opportunity to combine a winter vacation with top-class dance events. Thanks to the cooperation with renowned dance schools such as Tanzschule Chris from Vienna, Tanzloft Saarland and Tanzstern Salzburg, Gastein opens up a stage for dance lovers of all levels, from beginners to advanced dancers. Whether Standard and Latin, Discofox, Swing & Lindyhop - everyone will find their rhythm here. The experienced dance instructors guarantee quick learning success and the festive evening events offer the opportunity to put what you have learned into practice straight away.

The program
Among the numerous dance workshops, the lively salsa and bachata workshops stand out in particular, which are offered for both beginners and advanced dancers. For lovers of classical dance, the Slowfox and Viennese Waltz technique workshops with their elegance and precision offer a special experience, with participants of all levels welcome to perfect their skills under the guidance of experienced dance instructors.

Our participants not only love the varied range of dance styles on offer, but also the beautiful natural landscapes in the Gastein Valley," says Chris Lachmuth, Managing Director of Tanzschule Chris.
The event shines with a varied evening program that offers participants unforgettable experiences. The series of events begins with the warm "Welcome Party" on the first evening, followed by an atmospheric dance evening in the Glocknerkeller. A special highlight is the leisurely winter hike followed by an evening in a mountain hut in the Angertal valley. The highlight is the spectacular "Chassé to Aprés" dance night at the Bad Hofgastein Congress Center, a major social event that marks the crowning finale of the festival. The program is designed so that workshops take place both in the morning and in the afternoon and are also repeated. This allows participants not to miss any of their favorite dance sessions and to fully enjoy the winter vacation feeling in Gastein.
The focus is not only on dancing. The Tanz:Fest combines active recreation with social events: During the day, Gastein's snow-covered slopes beckon all winter sports enthusiasts. The Alpentherme Gastein provides relaxation after dancing, where participants can regenerate their tired muscles in healing thermal water.

The dance teachers from the Chris dance school in Vienna, Tanzloft Saarland, Tanzstern Salzburg and Vadim Garbuzov and Kathrin Menzinger will ensure your dance progress and unforgettable dance experiences in Gastein, where the perfect summer vacation awaits you.
You start the morning with a lively rumba lesson, enjoy the day on the mountain and treat yourself to relaxing hours in the Alpentherme before dinner. In the evening, the next dance highlight awaits you, e.g. hot salsa rhythms at the thermal pool!
Highlight on July 6 - Hof:Ball 2024
A dance gala with live band, gala menu, a salsa lounge and dance shows with the professionals from the Chris dance school as well as Katrin Menzinger and Vadim Garbuzov, who will also be holding workshops on the day of the gala.
Workshop Locations
All Tanz:Fest Gastein workshops and practice sessions take place in the Congress Center, the Kursaal or the Festalm in Bad Hofgastein. The 2021 newly renovated and ultra-modern rooms of the Congress Center (Freiraum, Lichtung, Praxis), the venerable rooms of the Kursaal and the festival location Festalm offer the perfect space for your dance classes and for the many evening events.
