In her multi-award-winning play "KUNST", which premiered in 1994, Yasmina Reza sheds light on the special intricacies of this male friendship. It is abysmally funny, but also bitterly evil and revealing. How many differences can a friendship tolerate? And how much tolerance is necessary to maintain it when you change over the years? Yasmina Reza takes this friendship to its limits - and back again with a light hand.

Marc is deeply irritated: "My friend Serge has bought a painting." So far, so good. But what a picture it is! It's white with white stripes that you can only see if you squint. And it heats up the tempers of the three friends who argue and laugh with each other in this biting comedy. Although the laughter is a bit of a problem once the picture is in the room. Because Serge suddenly uses an elaborate art vocabulary. And he has put down quite a large sum for this painting. Marc can't believe it: so much money for a white canvas? That's just laughable in Marc's eyes. Serge, on the other hand, doesn't understand why Marc is so allergic to this purchase and sticks to his guns: the white painting is art and worth every penny. A stalemate.

They consult Yvan. They want him to decide which of them is right. But Yvan refuses: he makes concessions to both friends and is otherwise preoccupied with his upcoming wedding. He's really scared of his wedding, or more precisely of his father-in-law. Soon it is no longer about the painting or the question of what is "art" and what is not. Instead, Marc, Serge and Yvan dissect their long-standing friendship.
