Holy places - churches, temples and mosques. From March 8, 2024, the Salzburg Museum will be showing an exhibition in the north oratory of the cathedral under the working title "Holy Places - Churches, Temples and Mosques".

While Johann Michael Sattler (1786-1847) - the creator of the famous Sattler panorama - left behind vedute of the city and countryside of Salzburg, his son Hubert Sattler (1817-1904) brought back views from his world travels, which he translated into large-format works in oil.
Not only the cosmoramas provide an insight into Hubert Sattler's diverse travels through Europe and the Middle East, through North and South America, but also the wonderful prints he brought back from his travels. They show picturesque views of places of worship of various denominations from antiquity to the 19th century. Under the title "Salzburg Museum - Guest Performance", the Salzburg Museum is hosting its own exhibitions in various Salzburg institutions during the closure period due to the general renovation and site expansion. With the one in the North Oratory, the works of father and son Sattler will remain visible, even though the Panorama Museum is currently closed.
