The Festspielfrühling Rügen is the spring festival of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and invites you to musical discoveries and personal concerts with exquisite artists over ten days in March. Prizewinners of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival take over the artistic direction of the Festspielfrühling Rügen and, together with musician friends and companions, create tailor-made programs for the island.

In spring 2024, the Danish String Quartet will take over the artistic direction of the 12th Festspielfrühling Rügen. The string quartet was awarded the NORDMETALL Ensemble Prize of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival in 2010 and will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in the 2022/2023 season. As artistic director, the Danish String Quartet can be experienced on the island of Rügen from March 8 to 17, 2024, alongside festival prizewinner Matthias Schorn and exciting musicians from their Danish homeland, such as the Danish National Girl's Choir and the folk ensemble Dreamer's Circus.
