Music enjoyment in the valley and on the mountain pasture - that's the Klassik:Sommer in Gastein! A varied potpourri of classical and contemporary cultural events awaits you. That's why this music highlight in Salzburger Land should not be missing from your personal calendar of events in 2024.

In Bad Hofgastein, extraordinary locations provide unique musical experiences. Famous symphonies can be heard at the Berg:Klassik concert at over 2000 meters above sea level, while local music traditions are honored at the Alm:Klassik series. Whether on the mountain, on the alpine pasture, in the park or in the forest: nature is far more than just a backdrop; it is a source of inspiration. This year, the Philharmonie Salzburg is once again presenting concerts in a class of their own. Under the direction of conductor Elisabeth Fuchs, the popular orchestra presents music to dream, dance and rave about - in the Kursaal in Bad Hofgastein.
Viennese salon music, operetta and musical melodies, film music and classical dance music are on the concert program of the Bad Gastein spa orchestra. The ambience is also fitting: the Vienna Hall of the Grand Hotel de l'Europe and the concert pavilion in the Merangarten.
In Gastein, music has long been just as much a part of summer as the fantastic backdrop of the Gastein mountains and the wide variety of activities.

Forest:Classical Music Gastein
Enjoying nature while listening to the sounds of classical music.
"The forest suggests listening", Hermann Hesse once said, so it seems only fitting that a small ensemble from the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra sets out to bring Gastein's forests to life together with music lovers. The classical music event takes place in various natural locations and creates a unique ambience. The trees provide pleasant shade, the green of the leaves soothes the soul. Everyone listens intently to the concert while the atmosphere of the forest surrounds them. There is something mystical about playing music in a natural forest setting. All concerts take place on a small, exclusive scale - for both artists and visitors. Up to six musicians form the ensemble of the Philharmonie Salzburg. There are 40 seats available for our guests. Registration is not required.
The entire Gastein Valley with the three villages of Bad Hofgastein, Bad Gastein and Dorfgastein will be the setting for the classical concerts in the woods.

Berg:Klassik - Mountains on fire
40 musicians from the Philharmonie Salzburg under the direction of conductor Elisabeth Fuchs bring the mountains and the firmament to life. There are numerous natural motifs in the symphonies and where better to showcase them than in the very place that inspired them: nature itself.
At the mountain station of the Schlossalmbahn and surrounded by imposing peaks such as the Mauskarspitze and Hirschkarspitze, concert guests enjoy a wonderful evening of music.Elisabeth Fuchs returns to Bad Hofgastein with the Philharmonie Salzburg and opens a very special concert season in May with romantic sounds.

Gastein Alm:Klassik
When the sounds of classical ensembles drift across the lush green alpine meadows of the Gastein mountains, the time has come for Alm:Klassik. Instead of wearing high heels and evening dress, you can listen to classical concerts in the Gastein Valley in relaxed mountain boots and a hiking outfit.
Hiking up to the Gastein Alpine pastures is an unforgettable experience in itself. Breathe in the crystal-clear, fresh air and let your gaze wander over the majestic mountain world. Once you arrive at the alpine pastures high above Bad Hofgastein, take a seat at one of the rustic, original alpine huts and sample the homemade delicacies from the region. When the musicians then play and perform both well-known and lesser-known melodies, the Gastein Alm:Klassik unfolds its full magic.

Can three-year-olds sit still for an hour? Not at all! And they don't have to! Why sit when you can dance, bounce, jump, spin and giggle?
BAD HOFGASTEIN. Music is so much fun and cheers up hearts young and old. Nowhere are emotions reflected as clearly and purely as in the faces of children: And you can see their curiosity about the hour-long concert experience. Conductor and director of the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra Elisabeth Fuchs is herself a mother of two: early contact between children and classical music is a very personal concern for her, true to the motto "practice early". And having fun is the top priority. "Hansel and Gretel" make musical appearances, as do the Song King and the Waltz King and, of course, the world-famous child prodigy W. A. Mozart.
The children are actively involved in the concerts, which take place in the Alpenkurpark in fine weather. Questions are asked and puzzles solved. There are opportunities to join in and, of course, the stage is not just reserved for the musicians.
