The main exhibition consists of three narrative blocks: "The Road to War", "The Terror of War" and "The Long Shadow of War". The exhibitions illustrate the Polish experience of war against the backdrop of the wider European and global context.
The heart of the museum is the main exhibition, which is one of the largest exhibitions of historical museums in the world with an area of over 5,000 square meters. It is located 14 meters underground. The exhibition tells of the tragic experience of the Second World War, of its origins and consequences, of victims and perpetrators, of heroes and ordinary people. It is intended to be a history lesson that we must not forget.
