The exhibition "fantastische orte.!" brings together works by four Gugging artists who look at both familiar and unfamiliar places in different ways.

August Walla's diverse pictorial work includes real and fictitious places, such as Ewigkeitendeland. His photographs offer a glimpse into the places where he lived and worked, which are always simultaneously the stage for his artistic productions. This contrasts with Leopold Strobl's small-format works, whose landscape pictures have a mysterious character, as he uses a pencil to erase living creatures from the newspaper photographs that serve as his models. He envelops the pictures in a mysterious blue-green veil. Leonhard Fink's extensive pencil-drawn maps show countries, regions and cities. They impress with detailed information on architecture, infrastructure and landscape. And Karl Vondal's erotic drawings and collages whisk the viewer away to the places of his dreams and desires. The countless depictions show fantastic and paradisiacal places with palm trees and white beaches, where Karl Vondal and his lover are right in the middle of it all.
