With the announcement of the artistic management team of the Saarpolygon Opera Festival, the hot phase of preparations begins for the first edition of the festival, which will open on August 16, 2024 with Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute".

The Italian artist Stefano Poda is director, set and costume designer, lighting designer and choreographer all in one. The musical director of the opera festival is the renowned conductor Marcus Bosch. Eight performances of The Magic Flute will be given in the Opera Festival's first season. Mozart's "Magic Flute" reaches people like no other opera thanks to its popularity, regardless of their background or social status. It contains light and darkness, the divine and the human, the past and the future, love and hate, bitterness and hope. The staging of this essentially hopeful and humanistic work at this highly symbolic location will create a new cultural beacon for the people of Saarland and its guests for years to come. The production will be staged using innovative design methods (light projections, LED, laser, video) and high-quality sound technology (surround sound). This creates an impressive effect on visitors using contemporary means.
