Founded in 1985, the London-based ensemble proves with great musical perfection that simply every piece of music in the world is worth reinterpreting on the ukulele: Pop, rock, punk, classical, every genre is represented and old familiar pieces suddenly sound like they've never been heard before!
For four decades, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain has been touring the world with astonishing success: China, USA, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and, of course, the whole of Europe. Whether at the Queen's private birthday party at Windsor Castle, at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall, in Carnegie Hall or the Sydney Opera House - the declared mission of the affectionately named "Ukes" is to counteract the seriousness of life with all their might. With more concerts under their belts than the Rolling Stones, the virtuoso musicians prove night after night that you really can have fun in any genre - as long as it's on the ukulele.
