The program of the WoertherSee Classics Festival 2025 is dedicated to the music of this era.
This season is characterized by an orchestra that is being presented in Austria for the first time. The Changsha Symphony Orchestra, one of the leading orchestras in the Republic of China, is coming to Carinthia to captivate the audience on four symphonic evenings, each with four symphonies by Brahms.
The festival will open with works of fundamental importance for the Romantic world of music - namely Johannes Brahms' First Symphony, a work composed on Lake Wörthersee, and Antonín Dvořák's Cello Concerto, performed by one of the most outstanding interpreters of Austrian young talent - Jeremias Fliedl. The orchestra will be conducted this evening by the renowned conductor Tao Fan.
For the duration of the intervening days, listeners will have the opportunity to enjoy an international community of performers. Here they experience the pianistic fireworks of Lovro Pogorelić. Alexei Kornienko leads and immerses this evening in the endless breath of Romanticism. The established conductor Adrian Schur, together with Elena Denisova, who devotes herself to the jewel of Romanticism, namely Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's violin concerto, offers the audience pure passion. The festival is crowned by the brilliant playing of pianist Cong Fan. Dian Tchobanov, known for his magnificent manual gestures, will be on the podium.
Wilhelm Sinkovicz, who enriches the evenings of the festival in his usual manner, will lead through the evenings.
We thus gently open the gates of romanticism for our young listeners - full of confidence, both youngsters and veterans are taken on this musical journey. Let yourself be intoxicated by the rousing waves.
