With Our House is a very very very fine house, the Kunstmuseum is presenting a very special exhibition to mark the 40th anniversary of the architecture of the new building. The extraordinary building by the renowned Danish architects Jørgen Bo & Vilhelm Wohlert was officially opened in 1983.

Today, it shapes the perception of the museum and is considered an outstanding example of museum architecture. Parallel to the planning of the new museum building, works of art were commissioned for the building in the early 1980s, such as the Plexiglas light installation by artist Terry Haass or the monumental wall mosaic by painter Mogens Andersen in the foyer, which is now being extensively restored for the anniversary.
This tradition of art in architecture, or what was then known as "integrated art", introduced in 1983, will be taken up again by the museum team for the anniversary exhibition in 2023, inviting artists to create unconventional works in response to the building. For the exhibition, Irene Fernández Arcas, Maximiliane Baumgartner, Mascha Fehse & Valentina Karga, Max Hübener, Alper Kazokoglu, Suchan Kinoshita & Olivier Foulon, Sara Manente, Deborah Robbiano & Sébastien Tripod and Theresa Weber are developing new settings and site-specific works that focus on forms of coming together. The exhibition extends from the outdoor space, into the foyer, the side wing over two floors and into all the exhibition rooms of the new building.
