A festive gala, organized by the Richard Wagner Association in cooperation with the Mannheim National Theatre, in the impressive setting of Mannheim's Christuskirche.

Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi: The two most important opera composers of the 19th century. At the same time, they are symbols of two opposing concepts of music theatre – "infinite melody" against theme and motif, Gesamtkunstwerk against the primacy of music, sacred myth against romantic realism.
The Richard Wagner Association, which has been a fixture in the cultural life of the city of Mannheim for decades, invites you to a gala concert in the neo-baroque rotunda of Mannheim's Christuskirche. Under the direction of Jānis Liepiņš, members of the soloist ensemble and the National Theatre Orchestra will provide a breathtaking evening with works by the two opera giants. Opera Director Albrecht Puhlmann will moderate the evening, which will be introduced by Dr. Marcus Fähnle, Bloomaul 2022, with a greeting.
