The Lake Constance Festival is a cross-border cultural festival that has been taking place for 35 years from the beginning of May to Whitsun at numerous venues in the four countries around Lake Constance (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein).
Each year, the festival is dedicated to a different thematic focus, inviting top-class artists from the fields of music, theater, dance and literature to the Lake Constance region. With two artists or ensembles in residence each year, musicians are guests who not only appear as artists, but also use their stay in the region to communicate their art, for new productions and for direct contact with festival visitors. The festival brings together all the events in the four participating countries in a joint presentation and shows what cultural gems the region has to offer. The program encourages visitors to visit new venues and discover the treasures of the Lake Constance region.
Outlook 2024
In 2024, the Lake Constance Festival will be dedicated to the theme of "polyphonic | monophonic" and will focus on vocal music. In keeping with this, the British vocal ensemble VOCES8, one of the world's leading vocal groups, will be in residence at Lake Constance. The popularity of the eight singers, especially among young audiences, is already remarkable - their music videos have hundreds of thousands of views and their albums have been listened to millions of times. You can look forward to VOCES8's live performances and their unique combination of musical skill, sonic appeal and captivating stage presence. As Artist in Residence, the French-Swiss violinist Chouchane Siranossian will present a multifaceted concert program at the Lake Constance Festival. Equally at home on the modern and baroque violin, she is one of the great virtuosos of the international scene, both as a soloist and alongside renowned orchestras. Her mastery of the instrument, supported by her musicological research, has made her a sought-after musician of great uniqueness in an exemplary career.
