Daniel Hope, President of the Beethoven-Haus and world-famous violinist with innovative program ideas, invites you on an exciting journey of discovery around the theme of origin as part of the three-day BTHVN WOCHE 2025.
The opening concert in the historic Kursaal Bad Honnef, which marks the Beethoven House's first visit to the Rhein-Sieg district, will focus on the traditional music of Ireland. It has a long history, but has only enjoyed worldwide popularity for around 100 years. Daniel Hope and his ensemble immerse themselves in the rich musical world of Ireland and trace the myths and legends of the Emerald Isle. For Daniel Hope, this musical journey is closely linked to his family history: His great-grandfather Daniel McKenna set off from Ireland over 100 years ago to find his fortune. For Hope, who still holds an Irish passport as well as a German one, it is also a journey back to himself and his roots.
For the first time, Daniel Hope will perform a solo violin recital in the charming ambience of the old Collegium Leoninum church in the heart of Bonn, focusing on the origins and history of the violin and violin making. Two top-class chamber music evenings in the Beethoven House and a late night concert with jazz round off the program.
Join us on a journey and let Daniel Hope inspire you!
