The Neues Landhaus is the largest remaining Nazi building in Tyrol. Built in 1938/39 as the seat of the party offices, it served as the administrative headquarters of the French military government after the Second World War. In 1955, the Tyrolean provincial government moved into the building. The Nazi background is denied and suppressed. It is only recently that the province has taken on its responsibility for the culture of remembrance and discussed how to deal with the architectural heritage.
The exhibition in the former representative rooms of the Gauleitung is dedicated to the Nazi past of the Landhaus area.

Using extensive documents from various archives, it shows the planning, construction and use of the building and sheds light on its changing significance right up to the present day. The stories of individual people from the working world of the Landhaus offer insights into everyday administrative life and the complex of crimes committed under National Socialism. The exhibition is accompanied by guided tours and educational activities for young people and adults. A program of events with lectures and discussions is dedicated to other topics of the Nazi era in Tyrol.
