The Cistercian monastery in Bebenhausen, whose construction began at the end of the 12th century, is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the region around Tübingen thanks to its beautiful location in the meadows and forests of the Schönbuch Nature Park and its ornate architecture.
The two-aisled summer refectory was built in 1335 and is an outstanding example of 14th century south-west German architecture. Our summer concerts have been held in this hall, which seats around 400 people, for over 50 years. The summer refectory is an excellent venue for our concerts, not only because of the delicate architecture of the fan vaulting and the rich ceiling paintings, but also because of its bright, friendly atmosphere and good acoustics.

Six concerts, each on Saturdays, with top-class soloists and chamber music ensembles. The popular chamber concerts in the former Cistercian monastery of Bebenhausen are surrounded by a special ambience. To the south of the cloister, opposite the fountain chapel, you enter a Gothic double-naved hall from the first half of the 14th century: the summer refectory. The concerts in the former dining hall of the monastery are therefore a special treat.
