A ball of light hangs above the heads of its viewers, swans swing on the pond and glowing jellyfish are reflected in the water: the light trail transforms Braunschweig's paths and parks along the River Oker into a glowing open-air exhibition until October 6. One highlight is the artwork "(Plastic) Full Moon", which rises daily over the Lion City. Together with a wide range of cultural attractions, almost 1,000 years of history and relaxation in the countryside, Braunschweig is a great destination for a summer city trip.
The 13 new and five existing works of art on the light trail can be experienced in the open air around the clock and free of charge from June 15 to October 6, 2024. A varied supporting program invites visitors to engage with the messages of the works. Guided boat and raft trips, walks and bike tours provide a deeper insight into the exhibited works and offer information about the international artists.
Visitors to the Lion City can also expect impressive works of art beyond the light trail with the four large-scale street art works of the GrossFormArt project and the world's only Happy Rizzi House by the famous New York artist James Rizzi.
