Kronberg Academy presents the extraordinary concert series "Sir András Schiff - Artist and Man" as part of the 2024/25 concert season. This high-caliber series brings one of the most important pianists of our time to the stage of the Casals Forum. Sir András Schiff will perform in various roles: as soloist, chamber musician, conductor and mentor. With outstanding artists such as Antoine Tamestit, Jörg Widmann and Julian Prégardien at his side, this concert series promises to be an absolute highlight of the season.
The concert series includes several remarkable performances that showcase the multifaceted talents of Sir András Schiff and his musical guests. A special highlight is the concert on November 10, 2024, in which the celebrated tenor Julian Prégardien and Sir András Schiff will perform Franz Schubert's touching song cycle "Die schöne Müllerin". This work is one of the most important cycles of Romantic song art and promises an emotional and musically profound experience. Further highlights of the series include the concert on February 27, 2025, in which the trio Schiff | Tamestit | Widmann will present a fascinating program, including Schumann's "Märchenerzählungen" and "Geistervariationen", Mozart's Trio in E flat major KV 498 "Kegelstatt" and works by Alban Berg. This concert is a unique opportunity to experience three world-class musicians in top chamber music form.
"Building Bridges" - Sir András Schiff supports young talent
In addition to his performances as a soloist and chamber musician, Sir András Schiff is also dedicated to mentoring the next generation of outstanding pianists. On June 27 and 29, 2025, András Schiff will present the up-and-coming artists Julia Hamos and Schaghajegh Nosrati as well as Jean-Sélim Abdelmoula and Nathalia Milstein at the Carl Bechstein Saal. Schiff will perform an unforgettable "Piano recital 4-hands" with these four on June 29. The Kronberg Academy
Kronberg Academy is regarded as one of the most important meeting and training places for young violinists, violists, cellists and now also for young pianists: in the heart of Europe, it brings together a global selection of the most talented young musicians and brings them together with the great artists of our time. In the Kronberg Academy study programs, young soloists work intensively with experienced musicians throughout the year and can earn a Bachelor's or Master's degree. The Kronberg Academy events offer young artists a shared stage with their role models and the audience the opportunity to immerse themselves in this special atmosphere. Several times a year, Kronberg Academy students go on tour together and perform on international stages. The credo of the great cellist and fighter for peace Pablo Casals, that art, humanity and the appreciation of nature belong inseparably together, is the guiding principle of the training and musical events in the new Casals Forum, the first concert hall in Europe that can be operated CO2-neutrally.
