After last year's resounding success, St. Pölten's Cathedral Square will once again resound with its most beautiful sounds on the first weekend in July. The new festival for contemporary culture, Tangente St. Pölten, and the Festspielhaus St. Pölten invite you to musical magic moments with works by Leonard Bernstein.

Under the direction of Garrett Keast, the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria will perform highlights from the work of the great maestro and unique composer, who was able to inspire millions of people with classical music with his globally broadcast series "Young People's Concerts". In addition to musical melodies from On the Town, the program on Friday evening includes excerpts from the bitingly satirical operetta Candide, as well as catchy tunes from the worldwide hit West Side Story.

In the second part of the evening, two captivating voices from the worlds of soul and jazz will delight audiences in a unique crossover concert with the Tonkunstler Orchestra. The American singer China Moses draws inspiration for her music from the most diverse styles of American Black Music, from soul to jazz to R'n'B - always sensitive, humorous and passionate. The celebrated British soul and jazz singer Myles Sanko, who sings his way into the hearts of the audience, sometimes soulfully, sometimes dynamically, brings the concert evening on Friday to an energetic close.
