The Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden is once again presenting a diverse program for young and old as part of the International May Festival from 1 to 31 May 2024. All areas of the performing arts are represented at the festival: Opera and concert, dance, performance and drama.

On May 1, 2024, the 2024 International May Festival will begin with the premiere of Giuseppe Verdi's Falstaff under the musical direction of Antonello Allemandi and in a production by Uwe Eric Laufenberg with, among others, Željko Lučić in the title role. This will be followed by two performances of Turandot with Anna Netrebko in the leading role. Andreas Schager will also be seen in the opera Otello. The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be performed with the premiere cast from the 2020 season. Wagner fans can also look forward to the Ring cycle with Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung. In addition, the new production of Wagner's Lohengrin will take to the stage of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden as a gala performance with Klaus Florian Vogt and Heather Engebretson.
