From 12. to 22. June 2025 will be Leipzig again the Mecca for Bachlovers from all the world. Under this this year's motto "Transformation" is dedicated to dedicated to the Bach Festival to a central aspect in Johann Sebastian Bach's work: the creative change. Whether adaptations own works, reinterpretations of well-known motifs or the inspired dialog with other composers - the theme runs through the entire festival program.

More than 200 events are on on the program - from top-class oratorio and cantata performances to chamber music and solorecitals to to to innovative crossoverformats. Renowned orchestras such as the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, the St. Thomas Choir and international ensembles and soloist:inside characterize the festival as well as well as young talents.

The opening concert on 12. June in the St. Thomas Church marks the prelude with a musical bridging between tradition and present - designed by Thomaskantor Andreas Reize and the Gewandhaus Orchestra. Also modern interpretations and unusual program formats invite to invite you, Bach's music from new perspectives to experience.

Special highlights are u.a. performances of the "art of the Fugue", a homage to Bach's art of arrangement, a concert with cantatas for Pentecost and the traditional "BachStageOpen-air for a broad audience. Complemented is the program by lectures, city tours, musical church services and special events in the BachMuseum.

With his multilayered program reflects the Bach Festival Leipzig 2025 not only the wealth of Bach's work reflected, but invites also to confrontation with musical renewal and cultural change a - a festival, that equally inspires, connects and inspires.
