From 24. August to 14. September 2025 transforms transforms the Lusatia once again into a stage for top-class art and culture: The Lusatia festival goes into its sixth season and presents a program, that regionally rooted and internationally oriented is internationally oriented. 31 events - including numerous world premieres and exclusive productions - bring music, theater, literature and dance to extraordinary places in southern Brandenburg and eastern Saxony.

The this year's leitmotif "aware of us" is dedicated to is the collective consciousness, the power of the unspoken and the idea of the "we". Artistically interpreted is this thought in bold and innovative projects: In the briquette factory Louise celebrates about Michael Sturminger's "sonnet factory" premiere - a play on basis of Shakespeare's sonnets. In the visitor mine F60 is with "Müller & Müller" a poetic relationship drama on the largest overburden conveyor bridge of the world staged.

Also musically offers the festival highlights: For the 90. birthday of Arvo Pärt will be a solemn concert in the parish church St. Peter and Paul in Görlitz organized - live broadcast by ARTE Concert. Jazz meets with Chinese Kunquopera in the project "Gravitations", and Ute Lemper bows bows in the final concert in Bautzen with a recital before Kurt Weill.

Friends of literature may look forward to scenic readings of works u.a. by July Zeh, Sofia Andrukhovych and Thomas Mann look forward to. Complemented will be the program by exhibitions, discussion formats such as the "Lusatia Lab" and the European premiere of the dance piece "HERE" by Andrew Schneider.

With events at places like old churches, disused industrial plants, castles and open-air stages is the Lusatia festival not only culturally, but also atmospheric an experience - between past and future, art and everyday life, East and West.
